Louise Welch

Hi, my name is Louise and I'm one of the newest additions to the Team here at Animals 1st. 

I am originally from Liverpool but have made East Lothian my home. A home I share with my husband Gary, 2 young boys 'William & Innes', 2 Ridgeback Boys 'Muick & Horace' and 1 British Silver-Tipped Boy 'Heston'.

Despite a much-loved career as a Forensic Scientist for almost 15yrs, I have since aged 12 always remained passionate and involved with the veterinary industry. This year, 2022, I graduated from The University of Edinburgh RDSVS, after pursuing a childhood dream of becoming a Veterinary Surgeon.

I have loved my first few months at Animals 1st working alongside such a dedicated & supportive team whilst getting to know our wonderful clients and their equally wonderful animals. I look forward to meeting many more in the future. 

I have a keen interest in small and large animal surgery aswell as forensic medicine but away from work I am an avid LFC supporter and spend most of my time playing spectator to my boys' activities.
